mommy and sons social life!!

I have now been officially been accepted into a mommies group! yay!!!
Honestly it was alittle exciting, it was like getting accepted into a group you've been on the outside looking in!

OUT: Becoming a Hermit!
Being a mom everyone knows you can only speak the language of your child for so long until you go nuts over watching spongebob for the fifteenth time! Everytime we move its hard to make friends in a new place. In highschool it wasnt so hard, I had my twin and the people I knew from the schools before. But being a military wife this is what we do. Its easy for my husband to make friends because he has to work with them, and you get all types of different characters, really its like looking into a bag of skittles lol youre not really sure what type of flavor your gonna get! I literally have moved 4 times in being married for 4 years. When i moved to South Carolina it was soooo hard. It was the first time that i moved away from my family, friends, and comfortableness! I actually went through a depression stage lol. So, what did I do? I did the brave thing and put myself out there and joined a mommies group. Believe me at first I was scared, I was scared that they werent going to be like my old friends that i wasnt going to be comfortable around them. And to be honest I was standoffish at first. I also was scared of making new friends and wondering if they were going to turn on me behind my back, or not like me, or worst think bad about me! But actually it was the complete opposite! They were just like me, going through the same things i was and i created a bond with two of them i will never forget! Before i knew it we were great friends going to lunch, going on walks to support each other for losing weight (while talking crap about the skinny chic who just ran past us lol) , and going to each others kids birthday parties.
So i'm excited that i'm joining a new one today because I cant wait to create that bond again with some new women! The funny thing is, is that I live in a military town so most of the moms are part of the military as well and they will know what im going through ;).
Last time i lived in this town i was literally a hermit. I didnt care to join a playgroup and i just stayed home with my kid and we did our own thing. But the thing is I need to get out there and let my son and I become social! I really think the moms groups help me to become a better person. And shoooooot who doesnt want to becomes friends with me? Im the bomb! lol If you are scared to get to know someone or live in a place to where you dont know anyone....you need to get out there and try to get to know people!! Honestly its easy and the people you are getting to know are just as scared as you are. So im putting myself out there today and getting to know some new women in a playdate and let my son make some friends =)

Savings!!!

Yes this blog is about the savings account, you know! that other account next to your checking!? Im not sure about y'all but mine never stays full! lol It gets about 10 dollars added in every month but the way i spend it gets added to checking for alittle extra to my target bill lol.

My mission starting this new month is to start saving! I am an avid shopper, I love going into a store and buying alot of things I really don't need. When they made that Confessions of a Shopaholic movie I was first in line to watch it. But in fact its not about what cute clothes they're going to show on there, its about how to cut out the unnecessary shopping. Now I havent always been this bad, when i lived in South Carolina i was one of those moms whose coupons covered the table! I loved basing my menu plan on what was on sale that week in the grocery store. I just strayed alittle and now im looking at the bigger picture of my future.
I want to buy brand new furniture, I want to send my kid to college, i want to buy a new wardrobe, and eventually when my husband gets out of the army i want to own a home! Whatever your reasons may be its time to start saving for our future!
So my goal in the next three months is to first see if i have the will power to save lol, and second is to see how much i can save. I can do it, i know i can. As of now im reading a book by Ellie Kay called 1/2 price living. Because I am a housewife we live on one income so we almost live half priced lol. Its going to teach me how to cut my grocery bill in half, how to cut my bills down in half...shooot im excited, this way when i go to look at new furniture for my house i can pay cash! From savings!
So lets go people! Lets see what we can save!
